Rescue Me ID: 18-05-17-00018Albert (male)

Tibetan Spaniel Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

If you're searching for the most devoted and loving best friend ever....Albert is the pup you want to have around! Albert, at just about 18 months old and 10 lbs, is just naturally a lover (initially a bit shy but warms up and blossoms) ....when he looks at you with those dark, expressive eyes and sweet smile, your heart just has to melt. Albert is a truly beautiful Spaniel mix with all the traits that make these very smart and personality-plus dogs very popular and beloved breed mixes. Albert enjoys his time with his foster mom so much that he joins her just about everywhere she goes...it's so important to Albert to be a true best ... (Read More)friend! He loves his people more than anything and would definitely win a lap-dog award. Albert cuddles close on the couch (or snuggling close on the bed all night is perfect!) with his beautiful head draped over his favorite person's leg...an occasional kiss from Albert is inevitable. He's a sensitive and very sweet guy who derives so much joy from his time spent with his people and his doggy siblings. Albert is a young, healthy guy who will love his family with all his heart. He would enjoy another kind and gentle dog to play with and then would love nothing more than to lie in the sunshine enjoying a beautiful day. Albert will have so much fun exploring and taking long walks along the Colorado trails. He is always open to new activities with a never-ending positive attitude...just say the word and up Albert jumps for a car ride, a fun hike or just a sociable walk around the neighborhood. Albert's foster mom had the following to brag about this sweet guy: Albert is a stunning Cavalier King Charles mix with a beautiful face and the prettiest and wisest eyes ever. He's 18 months old, weighs 16 lbs and just gets more loving, smarter and more engaging every single day. Albert can be a bit shy when you initially meet him... but some love, soft petting and great treats makes it easier for Albert to loosen up and be his very loving self. I would love to see Albert in a home with a family (older kids preferred so there's no tail-pulling) or active retirees who have the time and love for a very loyal and kind dog. I'd hate to see Albert left alone all day while his family works full-time. I think he's too sensitive for that. He's such an amazing dog and just the right size and temperament to accompany his people just about anywhere. Farfel's Rescue would like to see Albert in a home where he'll get consistent stimulation, exercise and tons of loving hugs. A positive reinforcement group training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence for a young guy whose self-esteem will fly high while he masters his skills. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of positive reinforcement trainers in your area. Albert appears to be a non-shedding or very lightly shedding pup (it's difficult to tell for certain until his sad shelter coat grows out). Albert will therefore require a commitment to periodic grooming and great nutrition (salmon oil is a great lifelong supplement for longevity and coat care) to keep his cottony-soft coat very healthy and matt-free. We've requested that Albert be neutered prior to his transport to Denver. We're not optimistic that this will occur. If it doesn't...Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Albert's neuter and microchip if our Denver area vet is used. Albert will be arriving on transport in Boulder in mid to late May (we'll update when the transport date is finalized). Applications are currently being accepted for this very sweet, engaging and loyal best friend. An application can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out and submit. PLEASE NOTE: If you're truly interested in adopting Albert, please be sure to submit our adoption application. It's the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in most circumstances, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit an adoption application. Thanks so much for choosing rescue. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 18-04-28-00073Foxy (female)

Tibetan Spaniel Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Foxy could be that dream come true pup for a family or retirees who love spending their time with a loving and very sweet companion. The Spaniel mixes are a perfect combo for those who are searching for an extremely smart, very engaging and fun-loving family dog. Foxy is a gorgeous girl whose coat, once receiving sudsy baths and great nutrition (a salmon oil supplement is a great lifelong choice for coat care and longevity) will be cottony-soft and shining with good health. It's impossible to tell in this blurry photo the beauty of Foxy's sweet face and her gorgeous dark eyes that are filled with so much wisdom. We've requested new photos ... (Read More)and will update the moment we receive them. Foxy's story is all too common in her suddenly being turned away by the only family she has ever known. It's not unusual for adult dogs to be relinquished when a family decides that a puppy is cuter and much more fun. It's fortunate that our compassionate New Mexico rescuer was contacted...She got in touch with Farfel's Rescue and we immediately accepted this gorgeous girl into our rescue. Foxy, with her sweet and kind attitude, seems to be in the process of leaving behind the neglect and lack of love that made up her earlier life. At 7 - 7.5 years old and about 12 lbs, Foxy is a fuzzy ball of good-will that loves to please. This is such a perfect size and weight...Foxy is old enough to have gathered wisdom in her life and to have left babyish behaviors behind while being young enough to have many, many healthy, active years ahead. Foxy is completely house trained, very respectful of her home and quiet and settled in her ways. This is one of the great benefits of adopting an adult dog with a great temperament. The happier Foxy's family is with her behavior, the more she shines with her accomplishments. We would love to see Foxy in a home that includes her in family time and activities...she's learning about being social and would thrive in a family that truly loves her and considers her a very important family member. We don't believe that Foxy would be happy with a family who works full-time outside of the home...she's too sensitive for that arrangement. We're seeking a situation for Foxy where her family either works from home or is retired and interested in spending lots of time with a fuzzy best friend. Foxy would be a wonderful companion for retirees who have the time and desire to be best friends with a truly adorable pup. Foxy can be a bit frightened by the loud voices and sudden movements of very young kids...it is for this reason that we feel that Foxy would be happiest in either an adult- only home or a home with older, dog-crazy children. Foxy will do well with anyone who's invested in spending lots of time with their pup. She's so pleasant and portable that she can be a part of any adventure....it can be a hike or long walk (she's the perfect size), a visit with friends, or just an afternoon spending time together plopped down on the couch - all of this would speak to Foxy's gentle temperament and loving ways. Foxy is arriving on transport in Denver on Saturday 5/5/18. Applications are currently being accepted for our sweet girl. If interested in this very cuddly and loving best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit.
