Tibetan Spaniels come from the Himalayas. Tibetan Spaniels are descended from little dogs kept in Buddhist monasteries. Tibetan Spaniels were sometimes given as gifts to Chinese Emperors. Tibetan Spaniels were virtually unknown in the U.S. prior to 1965.
