Tibetan Spaniels, or Tibbies, are bold and very smart. Tibbies make wonderful family companions and are great with children. Tibbies can have a stubborn streak and be a little challenging to train. Generally, Tibbies can be socialized to get along with other pets. This breed is good for apartment life.

Tibetan Spaniels are descended from little dogs kept in Buddhist monasteries. Tibetan Spaniels were sometimes given as gifts to Chinese Emperors. Tibetan Spaniels were virtually unknown in the U.S. prior to 1965.
